    A Merry Christmas?

Thursday, December 27, 2007, 04:17 AM GMT [General]

Around this festive season almost everybody will gather around and read the Christmas story at least once. Almost everybody will hear a friendly, "Merry Christmas!". Almost everybody will pray a silent prayer to Jesus thanking him for his birth [excluding all the athiests and such]

When I come to that realization one might assume that it'd give me pleasure. But I've come far from it... Just because of another realization.

Give it a couple of weeks or months and you'll see those same people acting in a hypocritical way. Hypocrisy {sp?} has been bearing on my heart lately, its been eating away at my heart. Because I see people at my school and at my church that claim to be Christians, people who raise their hands in worship, people who fall to the ground at the alter in tears, people who seem to be truely in love with God. And then I turn around and see these same people at school, and if I didn't know any better I'd never guess that they were Christians or even attended church.

And with Christmas just passing you see these nativity scenes in everybody's yards and everybody saying, "Jesus is the reason for the season!" and all the good jive. But in all reality most people are doing these such things just because its the right thing to do. Hey, its Christmas, I know that I'm supposed to say Merry Christmas to everybody and be all joyful because Jesus came as a baby for me, leaving his godly form. But after its all said and done who ever really gives his birth a second thought? Now, I'm not throwing the stone at anybody, because I do it as well. The Holy Spirit has just been convicting me about it lately...

So just as a friendly reminder, try to remember Jesus's birth throughout the year, not just in this white [and for my case and some others] green Christmas season, where its easy and something casual to remember his birth. Try not to forget. And also people should be able to tell if you're a Born Again Child of God, not to assume just because they see you at church. Had to add that, because like I mentioned earlier hypocrisy has been on my mind lately.. ><

Anyways. God bless... and may he be with you always.

Good for your Lindsey! I loved your blog about hypocrites. You are so right! We all need to make sure people can see Jesus in us all the time! Thank you for writing your blog. I really enjoyed reading it. It was a good reminder for me!

You are so right Lindsey about the hypocrisy in the "Christian's" of today. I know because I was one of them until about a month ago. I love the honesty in which you write. I too have started to write with that kind of honesty. You are such an inspiration. God Bless You!
